Pafranidis Pavlos
Pavlos Pafranidis was born in Katerini. At the age of 12 he started learning bouzouki and music theory. Since 1993 he resides and works in Thessaloniki, playing a variety of instruments (bouzouki, tzouras, baglamas, oud, guitar and mandolin). Since 2001 he has been teaching bouzouki at the following music schools and conservatoires: Toumba Conservatoire “K. Matsigos”, En Chordais – School of Traditional and Byzantine Music, Thessaloniki Music College, Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
He has worked extensively with composers and musicians such as Stavros Kougioumtzis, Manolis Rasoulis, Giorgos Kazantzis. He has performed in various concert venues in Greece and abroad with Petros Gaitanos, Eleni Vitali, Vasilis Lekkas, Kostas Pratsinakis, Fotini Velesiotou, Gerasimos Andreatos, Giota Negka, Maria Soultatou, Babis Tsertos, Giorgos Dalaras, Lizeta Kalimeri, Babis Kanas, Sofia Emfietzi, Kyriakos Kalaitzis, Dimitris Mpasis, Sofia Papazoglou, Diogenis Daskalou and Monie Monie Conniente.
He worked with the National Theatre of Northern Greece at the following performances: Aging Successfully, Ouzeri Tsitsanis, Pavlou Mela 22 by Giorgos Skampardonis under the direction of Sotiris Hatzakis, Street Wise Guys on an adaptation by Giorgos Skampardonis under the direction of Konstantinos Arvanitakis, Cherchez La Femme by Stratis Paschalis under the direction of Sophia Spyratou.
He participated at the music production of My Sweet Canary by Roy Sher, a film that is a tribute to Roza Eskenazi.
