The present edition aspires to consist the first part of a teaching system for the instrument of banjo, not only as reference for the understanding of the tropical system of the so called Greek traditional music, but mainly as a soloist and accompaniment, at the same time, instrument with high technical requirements and wide repertoire.
From the very first lines, we consider necessary the delineation of the system goals as well as the quotation of suggested method for the teaching of the music parts: As immediate aim of the system is prefixed the introduction of the student in the rhythmic, glottal stops and morphological idioms of the anonymous Greek and Greek-speaking, mainly, songs. Its purpose is the aesthetic cultivation of the student, as he learns in parallel to appreciate the language and its rhythms, the meaning of the song as structural work and the melody as expressive element of the speech that obeys, however, at glottal stops and rhythmical structural rules.
