2012 was the 50th anniversary since the death of one of the most significant composers, whose music and general presence defined and shaped the evolution of popular music in Greece. The music of Manolis Kalomiris is an important reference point and the research around his work is constantly revealing new sides of his personality and creativity.
In this volume, we attempted to gather every piece of scientific evidence demonstrating in an emphatic way the importance of M. Kalomiris. So one could easily find texts related to his chamber music, his songs, his educational work as well as his temperament and philosophical influences. At the same time, we made sure to include texts that are considered documents and reveal important historical facts regarding his work.
It is certain that Manolis Kalomiris will continue to fascinate us for years to come, since research on his work has officially just begun. What is undeniable is the fact that recent findings seem to pose an extreme interest.
