These songs were born through the joys and sorrows of the imprisoned women. I came in contact with the 'poems' of these women through the Helleinion team (to which I have the honor to belong). Four members of the group, Theodora Leispistinou, Dimitris Kostopoulos, Malamatis Valakos and Despina Venetia visit every week the womens wing of the Diavata prison in Thessaloniki in order to, among other things, teach Greek Literature to these women. So, four books with the writings and the poems were released in order to get those womens words outside of the iron bars! This consequently created the need for their writings to become songs. [...]
