Window of Hope is the debut album by saxophonist and composer Andreas Thermos, marking a clear shift toward original composition and a fully formed ensemble sound.
Although the saxophone is his primary instrument, Thermos’s writing is deeply informed by the piano. Many of the pieces began as piano improvisations and were later shaped into arrangements for a sextet with three horns and rhythm section. The music moves between structure and openness, allowing melody, groove, and improvisation to coexist naturally.
The band is built on long-standing musical and personal relationships, giving the album a strong sense of trust and immediacy. That chemistry is central to the record’s sound — focused, direct, and unforced.
The title track, Window of Hope, was composed during the quarantine period and recorded in a single take without rehearsal. That moment of connection became a reference point for the entire project.
Window of Hope invites the listener to engage without expectations — music that can feel reflective or forward-moving, depending on where you meet it.
