A musical analysis of the early compositional work of Vassilis Tsitsanis in relation to the historical, social, cultural context of his hometown, Trikala, within which this repertoire was formed. Based on the available recorded material, the theme of the lyrics and music with listed examples are being examined as well as the melodic development, rhythmic structure, musical form and the role of musical instruments.
