The Incredible Sound of Making a Violin, It’s All in the Details
by James Bennett, II
As technology becomes a greater part of our lives and more jobs are lost to automation, it becomes all the more powerful to take a step back every so often and marvel at what can’t be lost: art, cooking, traditional craft-making, elementary school teachers. Or, take violin makers. Sure, the violin could be mass produced, but the luthier’s craft is age-old. And you can learn a bit about it from this short, sweet and ASMR-triggering documentary, shot at the Chicago School for Violin Making.
We can’t recommend highly enough that it’s listened to with the absolute best headphones you have on hand — the sounds of making a violin are just as soothing as the sounds of the instrument itself. Seriously, it’s that good.
