Λίγα λόγια για το IBMF Minifest 2019

Το International Body Music Festival (IBMF) Minifest έρχεται για δεύτερη φορά στην Αθήνα από το PLAYGROUND for the arts. Φέτος, έχει τίτλο Teacher Training και συμπεριλαμβάνει 4 μέρες από σεμινάρια, ανοιχτες συζητήσεις, και προβολές, με έμφαση στην βιωματική και ενσώματη εκπαίδευση.

Καινοτόμοι και πολύπλευροι καλλιτέχνες, που εισήγαγαν το Body Music στην εκπαίδευση (σχολική, μουσικής, χορού, ευάλωτων ομάδων κ.α.) θα βρίσκονται στην Αθήνα 10 – 13 Οκτωβρίου 2019 όπου θα μοιραστούν τις τεχνικές και τις προσεγγίσεις τους πάνω στο σώμα ως μουσικό όργανο και εκπαιδευτικό εργαλείο για όλα τα είδη και επίπεδα μάθησης.

Οι καλλιτέχνες που συμμετέχουν είναι: Keith Terry, Bryan Dyer, Θάνος Δασκαλόπουλος, Νατάσσα Μάρτιν, Γιώτα Πεκλάρη, Simone Mongelli και άλλοι!

Τι είναι το IBMF

Το IBMF (International Body Music Festival) ιδρύθηκε το 2008 από τον Keith Terry και είναι project της διεθνούς μη κερδοσκοπικής εταιρίας Crosspulse. Με βάση το Σαν Φρανσίσκο, η Crosspulse έχει ως σκοπό την παρουσίαση, ηχογράφηση και εκπαίδευση ρυθμικών τεχνών από όλο τον κόσμο, διοργανώνοντας φεστιβάλ μεγάλης αλλά και μικρότερης διάρκειας (MiniFests), που περιλαμβάνουν συναυλίες, σεμινάρια, διαλέξεις και εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα για ενήλικες και παιδιά.

Από το Kecak της Ινδονησίας, το zapateado και τα palmas του flamenco, μέχρι το afro αμερικάνικο hampone, stepping και πολλά ακόμα είδη, το σώμα αποτελεί το κατεξοχήν πρωτογενές μέσο μουσικής και χορευτικής έκφρασης. Σήμερα η συνάντηση όλων αυτών με σύγχρονες καλλιτεχνικές προσεγγίσεις δημιουργούν ένα νέο αυτόνομο μέσο (body music) που χρησιμοποιεί αποκλειστικά το σώμα για να δημιουργήσει μουσική και χορό.

Tι είναι το ΙΒΜF MiniFest της Αθήνας.
Το International Body Music MiniFest Athens αποτελεί μέρος μιας παγκόσμιας δράσης του IBMF που πραγματοποιείται σε διάφορες χώρες με συγκεκριμένες θεματικές.

Τo 2017 το IBMF MiniFest στην Αθήνα έλαβε χώρα στα: PLAYGROUND for the arts, στο θέατρο Πόρτα, στο bar-restaurant “Θα σε κανω βασίλισσα” και στο Μικρό Χώρο Τέχνης (mxt.gr) και προσφέφερε πέντε ημέρες γεμάτες body percussion, πολυφωνικό τραγούδι, παραδοσιακούς χορούς, ρυθμολογία, αυτοσχεδιασμό, beatbox, circle singing, gumboot, κ.α.

Το φετινό φεστιβάλ [10-13/10/19] φέρει τον υπότιτλο ‘Teacher Training’ και σκοπεύει να μοιραστεί το πλούτο της Μουσικής του Σώματος με επαγγελματίες και εκπαιδευτικούς στους χώρους του θεάτρου/ μουσικής/ χορού/ σχολείου/ ειδικής αγωγής και εμψύχωσης. Πρόκειται για μια πρωτόγνωρη εκπαίδευση πάνω στο σώμα ως μουσικό όργανο και εκπαιδευτικό εργαλείο για όλα τα είδη και επίπεδα μάθησης με έμφαση στην βιωματική και ενσώματη εκπαίδευση. Οι εκπαιδευτές θα είναι από Η.Π.Α. και Ελλάδα.

About IBMF Minifest 2019

The International Body Music Festival (IBMF) Minifest is coming to Athens for the second time by the production team of PLAYGROUND for the arts. This year’s theme is ‘Teacher Training’ and it includes 4 days of workshops, panels, and screenings, which focus on experiential and embodied education.

Pioneer and versatile artists who have introduced Body Music in education (school, music, dance, vulnerable groups and more) will gather in Athens October 10th – 13th 2019 and will share their expertise and approaches on the moving body as a musical instrument and an educational tool for all types and levels of learning.

WHAT IS IBMF?
The International Body Music Festival (IBMF) was founded in 2008 by Keith Terry and is a project of the international non-profit company Crosspulse. Based in San Francisco, Crosspulse aims to present, record and educate in rhythmic arts from around the world, and to organize miniFests that include concerts, seminars, lectures and educational programs for adults and children.

From Indonesia’s Kecak, Zapateado and Palmas, to Flamenco, to afro American hampone, stepping and many more, the body is the preliminary medium of music making and dance expression. Today, meeting all of these art forms with a modern artistic approach, creates a new kind of art that uses the body exclusively to create music and dance.

What is the IBMF MiniFest in Athens?

International Body Music MiniFest Athens is part of an IBMF Global Action that takes place in a number of countries with specific themes.

In 2017 IBMF MiniFest in Athens took place at: PLAYGROUND for the arts, Porta Theater, “Tha se kano Vasilissa” and “Mikros Horos Tehnis” and offered five days full of body percussion, polyphonic singing, traditional dances, rhythm, improvisation, beatbox, circle singing, gumboot, etc.

This year’s [10-13 / 10/19] festival is entitled ‘Teacher Training’ and aims to share the richness of Body Music with professionals and teachers in theater / music / dance / schools / special ed. and social work. It is an unprecedented training on the body as a musical instrument and an educational tool for all kinds and levels of learning with an emphasis on experiential and embodied education. The trainers will be from the USA, and Greece.
